Carl Jenks
A native Rochesterian, Carl grew up in the 19th Ward and graduated from West High School. After four years at Ithaca College, he and his bride, Susan, moved to New York City to pursue their career paths; Carl in television production and Susan in acting and modeling. It was in New York that they both met Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord. For the next 14 years they pursued successful careers in their respective fields, parented two children, and grew as disciples of the Lord Jesus. In 1977, while Carl was still employed as a TV commercials producer, the Lord led them to plant a church in Manhattan, which they served for the next eight years as pastors. In 1985 they left New York City to return to the Rochester area where they have lived ever since.

Carl has been in various ministry roles for 32 years. In the course of his ministry he has served as a pastoral counselor, staff pastor, bi-vocational church planter, and senior pastor. For the last 19 years he has been the Senior Pastor of New Hope Community Church, in North Chili. He presently serves New Hope as an Apostle. In addition to New Hope, Carl is active in encouraging and training pastors and business leaders in the Rochester area and in other nations. He is active in marketplace ministry in the Northeastern U.S., including giving spiritual oversight to three businesses. He has been happily married for 38 years and his two grown children, Stephen and Rachel, are also serving the Lord.
