People Group Initiative At All Nations Church our foremost desire and purpose is to see the glory of God magnified, His name proclaimed and His Kingdom extended among all the peoples of the world. From Scripture we see that the end results of the plan of God are these very things. Revelation 5:7-9 depicts a scene in heaven where worship is taking place before the throne of God. Here Christ is seen as a “Lamb who was slain,” and whose blood bought men for God from every tongue, tribe, people and nation. We believe this to be the culmination of a plan that God put in place as a result of the Fall of Adam in the Garden. This plan was developed and communicated to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. It was reaffirmed, demonstrated and lived out in the person of Jesus Christ during His earthly ministry and continues now through the Church which He established and commissioned for this task. The Bible itself revolves around this subject matter. God Himself is the lead character in the story. It is a story about Him, His glory, His character, His actions and His purposes. We who are created in His image find our greatest fulfillment in light of that. He has redeemed us for Himself. In the two thousand years following the Great Commission, a lot of progress has been made. The Gospel has made its way to every continent and most countries of the world have churches or multiple followers of Jesus. The nations or peoples who inhabit those countries are far more numerous and they are the focus of the Great Commission. These groups of people who share a common ethnicity or language or culture number approximately 17,000. Of these 17,000 about 6,000 are still in need of people outside the group to bring the Gospel in and help plant new churches. Of these 6,000, 153 have been identified as possibly being a gateway into the spread of the Gospel among the rest of the remaining peoples. Because of these things, All Nations will begin its efforts toward making Jesus known among all people by selecting and focusing her resources upon one of these 153 groups. |
